6 ways to relax and refresh

Our fast-paced life demands relaxing and refreshing our mind more than ever.  While the corona lockdown might have reduced the stress for some, others are feeling that their workload only got doubled. Here are some ways to easily reduce stress and feel relaxed at home and outside. All you need to do is spend some time for yourself!

Movies

Watching movies is a great way to lose ourselves into the story on-screen. Be it watching along with the family members in the evening with a bowl of popcorn or sitting all alone enjoying a romantic movie late at night is something that makes us lose ourselves and forget all our worries for that instant. Make sure you choose a good movie of your favourite star/genre and you are all in.

Watching the stars

It might sound childish but there are few things in nature that feel fresh and new every time we see it, watching the stars at night is one among them. On a moonless night, watching the stars is the best way to relax and refresh your mind. Taking in the scene along with your partner adds to the beauty of the whole experience. Those twinkling stars have the magical powers to heal and fill up with fresh energy and motivation you need to start your next day afresh.

Taking a dip

Be it the sea, swimming pool, or just a cool shower in your bathroom, taking a dip not only cools off your body but your mind too. If you are not lucky enough to have a pool in your house, taking a long shower helps bust your stress. Never miss that opportunity to take a dip in that nearby pond or waterbody!

A walk in the park

Walking helps relax your mind and slow down your racing thoughts thereby reducing your stress level too. I am not talking about walking that short distance for your quick needs but just walk for the sake of it, to talk to your own inner self in order to sort things out. Walking will help allow some fresh air to embrace you, slow yourself down from your busy schedule and take off that pressure in your head. Evenings and early mornings are the best time to walk as it offers the maximum result.

A long drive

A long drive to an old temple or picnic spot is often so helpful to mingle with family members or your partner. Having a particular destination doesn't matter because the actual fun is in the long drive. Combining a quick picnic and choosing a 3 to 4-hour drive away works best to spend your weekend fruitfully. Make sure your safety measures are not compromised on the road and while choosing your destination as well!

Reading

Choose your favourite spot in the house, grab your favourite book, some coffee or drinks and you are on! Immersing yourself in a good book makes you forget everything in reality as you enjoy reading and transporting yourself to that dreamland. If you are reading in a device, make sure you are not distracted with social media or anything else and just enjoying the pleasures a book has to offer!

Comments

  1. So true! I prefer reading. For watching movie, I watch it with my husband only. That's great for relaxation. Otherwise, I'm a book lover, not a movie lover :)
