Book review: Cowgirls Love French Kisses

I have a thing for stories happening in France, although I'm not sure why! When I reached out for an ARC, little did I know this story would mesmerize me!

When Annie lands in Paris, she innocently accepts when a charming Frenchman offers help. It was only later she discovered her passport was stolen by him. When she was at a cafe, Mathieu was having drinks with friends in another corner. With his looks at this woman, his friends cheer him up to talk to her. Doubtfully he approaches her but she's full on armour this time to save herself from strangers. But the wonderful Mathieu takes on this tough job of convincing her about his genuine tendency to help. Without a passport, she couldn't log in to her hotel room. With the embassy closed on labour day followed by holidays, she has no place to stay. He welcomes her to stay in his hotel room. He offers her drinks before settling in the hotel room. But wait...He sits all night admiring her beauty as she is in deep sleep and then he's gone before she wakes up the next morning. Hotel bills paid and a breakfast tray waiting by her bed, he leaves without even saying goodbye! That's when the real sizzle starts... A few weeks later, she works as an English teacher for a bunch of CEOs to earn a living. He goes on his way, and visits his family. But deep down both of them miss each other. Just that one day was enough for them to know about each other. they begin to slowly fall for each other and feel a deep connection to one another. She didn't have a clue as to where he was and so was he. But his friend Clement comes to help. After knowing where she works Mathieu frequents his visit but just as a ghost, without her knowledge. He was not sure if she was also feeling the same way as he was. Finally, when Mathieu and Annie meet she melts into his embrace. Mathieu dreams of a perfect future with Annie but he is unsure of himself. He doesn't want to repeat his past mistakes. His family finds Annie a perfect match for Mathieu. How their insecurities and self-doubts mixed with their rooting in different continents plays a part goes the story. Lovers' longing, self-doubt, admiration, friends, family, and romance added in the right amount and rolled into one perfect package in this story. From losing her passport on day one to struggling to trust Mathieu, falling for him after he leaves her, the way she makes friends, and then dealing with Mathieu as he shows up - an amazing transformation and adds depth to her character. I was so involved in the story that when I lifted my head from the book, it took some moments for me to realize that I lead a different life here in my place and not in Paris and not with Annie and Mathieu.Descriptions of the city of love, the way self-doubt is killing Mathieu from inside were all in the right proportions painting a wonderful picture in front of my eyes. This story reiterated that not every stranger volunteering to help is a fraud and that love happens when you begin to appreciate the person for who he/she is!I thoroughly enjoyed the story down to every line. It's pure reading bliss, one of the best love stories I enjoyed so far.Cowgirls Love French Kisses is the best Christmas present I gifted myself!
