Book review: Cooking Up A Kiss

Romance is tough. But it's not so for Trixie and Preacher who meet up by chance at a diner. The good girl next door and the football hero who descends to a small town to spend the rest of his retired life fall for each other.

Trixie is a cook working at a diner trying to save every bit of her earnings to open a restaurant of her own. When she meets Preacher, she is instantly drawn to his looks. At first, she tries her best to resist getting attracted to him. But his looks and true self are irresistible for someone who longs for true love. Her wounds run deep in her heart from her terrible divorce. Preacher doesn’t want to hurt her anymore by having a relationship with her. He feels that someone better than him will best suit her rather.

Both have their reasons for not confronting their love for each other. She doesn’t want to hurt herself anymore. He thinks he is way too bad for her.

But fate has other plans. The more Trixie tries to avoid him the more she gets the chance to get up close with him. The more Preacher tries not to fall for her, the more his mind reminds him of her lips.

Racheal Eliker has brought out the beauty of romance between them, sizzling without any vulgarity or obscenity. Every time Trixie meets Preacher the attraction between them is natural and its none other than the author's talent to bring out the chemistry so subtly yet unavoidable.

At times, I envied Trixie with how she handled everything with ease and was the sweetheart of almost everybody in that town. The magic of love attracting them together is something I enjoyed the most. Cooking up a Kiss is a wonderful read for those looking for a light, feel-good romance.
